Help people stay safe at home, with the TV they already have.

NestCara connects the person at home, their family, and their care team.

Most people want to stay in their own home when they need care. NestCara helps make that safer. It turns the TV in the living room into a simple way to check in, get help, and see a clinician. Family and care teams get the updates they need, when they need them.

How it works

NestCara serves 3 groups of people. Each one gets only what they need — an ecosystem of the TV at home, family on a phone, care teams on the web, and insights that can move toward the doctor’s record (EHR).

1The person at home

A small box, the Nest HD, plugs into the TV. There is no new screen to learn. A simple remote and their voice do it all.

  • A friendly check-in each morning: “Good morning. How are you doing today?”
  • Video calls with family, caregivers, and the doctor’s office
  • Reminders for pills and visits
  • Help fast if there is a fall or a fire

2Family

Family members use a phone app. They see a short, plain update, like “Mom checked in this morning and said she feels good.”

  • An alert right away if something is wrong
  • A video call to the home TV with 1 tap
  • Messages and photos that show up on the TV

3Care teams

Home care agencies, clinics, and doctors’ offices use a web portal.

  • Alerts for each client, sorted by how urgent they are
  • Video drop-ins on the client’s TV
  • A check that each home visit really happened
  • Health readings and check-in notes, ready to support the doctor’s record (EHR)

The NestCara disciplines

Everything runs through the Nest home device on the TV — so daily care, family connection, and clinical support stay in one place.

From the living-room TV, NestCara ties together check-ins, monitoring, partner safety tools, and the people who care — without asking anyone to learn a new gadget.

What NestCara does

Simple tools for daily life at home — not another complicated app to learn.

  • Daily check-in The TV asks how the person feels. NestCara notes changes from their own normal and tells family if something looks off.
  • Fall and fire alerts NestCara works with Fall Call and FireAvert. The person is told first. Then family and the care team are told, in the order set for that home.
  • Health readings A blood pressure cuff, a scale, and a blood oxygen meter can send readings on their own. Readings a doctor ordered go to that doctor’s office.
  • Video visits Family calls, care team drop-ins, and doctor visits all happen on the big TV screen.
  • Door codes for caregivers An optional smart lock gives each caregiver a code that only works around their visit time.
  • Privacy built in The camera and mic have switches on the box. The person can see who is seeing their data. Each person gets only the part they need.

NestCara does not replace 911. In an emergency, call 911.

A calm, bright living room — the kind of space NestCara is built for

Built for rural Virginia

In Southwest Virginia, a trip to the doctor can mean a long drive. Many people who need care live alone, and family may live hours away.

  • No new tech to learn. It uses the TV and remote people already know.
  • Fewer trips. Check-ins and video visits happen from the living room.
  • Care at home counts. What happens at home is built to reach the doctor’s record, so it can be part of the care plan.
  • Built to show results. NestCara is designed to measure what matters for rural health-at-home programs — so partners can see progress, not guess.

For partners

Help us shape NestCara for the people you serve.

NestCara is not on the market yet. We are looking for a small group of partners in Southwest Virginia who support people who need care at home. That includes senior services groups, mobile and rural clinics, home care agencies, family caregivers, and local health leaders.

As a partner, you can:

  • See the demo and tell us what works and what does not
  • Help us fit NestCara to how your team really works
  • Plan a first group of homes together
